$40 CAD

😊 In Plain English

An ASUS card for $40 for a compatible tower, as a backup, and for certain classic games. This GTX 770 DirectCU II has 2 GB of GDDR5 memory, a 256-bit bus, and dual-fan cooling. It can also be used for extended display and certain compatible graphics applications.

Before purchasing, be sure to check the space and power supply: stated length of 280 mm, non-Low-Profile card, recommended quality power supply of 600 W for the complete PC, and two mandatory connections: PCIe 6-pin + PCIe 8-pin. Also check the height, thickness, and cable clearance.

It features DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI-D, and DVI-I, with up to four monitors depending on connections and drivers. Its 2 GB of memory and older generation limit modern games: not a purchase for modern gaming, hardware Ray Tracing, or heavy graphics work.

Card opened, heatsink dusted, thermal paste replaced, tested under load and on Windows 11 in our workshop. Installation and appropriate drivers to be performed on your PC. 30-day warranty from the date of billing.

🔎 Key Points to Remember Before Your Purchase

  • Exact model: ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5, DirectCU II range.
  • ASUS DirectCU II cooling design: Copper heat pipes in direct contact with the GPU and dual fans to dissipate heat. Temperature and noise also depend on the case ventilation and load.
  • Wide 256-bit memory bus and CUDA cores: 256-bit interface, stated bandwidth of 224.3 GB/s, and 1536 CUDA cores. An older dedicated card for compatible graphics applications and extended display.
  • Four original video outputs: 1× standard DisplayPort, 1× HDMI, 1× DVI-D, and 1× DVI-I. Multi-screen display depending on connections and drivers.
  • Power and dimensions — prerequisites: stated length of 280 mm, non-Low-Profile card for a tower with sufficient space. Free PCIe x16 slot and recommended 600 W power supply with 1× PCIe 6-pin connector AND 1× PCIe 8-pin connector. Both connections are necessary; check the complete PC power supply before purchasing.
  • Older card with 2 GB of video memory: a choice to consider for certain older or lighter games, not to rely on recent AAA games. Check the game version and drivers.
  • Strict prohibition of mining: cryptocurrency mining is prohibited according to our detailed warranty policy below.

🎯 Recommended uses and actual capabilities of the card

The GTX 770 DirectCU II is a Kepler generation NVIDIA card launched in 2013. Its ASUS dual-fan cooling and copper heat pipes made it a model intended for graphics performance enthusiasts. Today, it can return to service for the compatible uses below.

✅ This graphics card is suitable notably for:

  • Office acceleration and multi-screen: extend your workspace for emails, spreadsheets, and folders, up to 4 monitors depending on connections and drivers.
  • Replacement and backup: restore dedicated display to a compatible tower whose original card is defective or whose processor does not have integrated graphics.
  • Multimedia and light editing: 1080p videos, light editing or graphics editing depending on software, codec, and the rest of the PC.
  • Retro, classic gaming and emulation: some older games, 2D titles such as Stardew Valley, Terraria, Among Us, emulators, Roblox or Minecraft, after checking the requirements of the chosen version.

❌ This card is NOT designed for:

  • Recent AAA games at maximum settings: the 2 GB of VRAM and older architecture limit the possibilities.
  • Modern hardware Ray Tracing features.
  • Intensive 4K professional editing, artificial intelligence or heavy 3D rendering.

🎮 Gaming performance analysis

This older card can be interesting for classic entertainment in 1080p. Results depend on the processor, RAM, drivers, settings and the game version. No measured FPS per game is provided for this item.

  • ✅ Recommended for: retro games, 2D indies, emulators and small browser games. Minecraft Java and League of Legends: check the requirements and drivers of the version used, and adjust the view distance and settings.
  • ⚠️ Check on a case-by-case basis: Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) and Fortnite, with no guarantee of operation or fluidity even with reduced settings. Do not extrapolate results from older versions.
  • ⚠️ Distinguish the editions: GTA V Legacy and The Witcher 3 Classic should not be confused with the Enhanced or next-gen versions, which are more demanding and not recommended here.
  • ❌ Not recommended: Cyberpunk 2077, recent versions of Call of Duty and other current demanding titles.

🎯 For a modern gaming system, our team can guide you toward a more suitable card or tower: 514-394-7794.

✅ Preparation and testing in the workshop

Card opened, heatsink dusted, thermal paste replaced, cleaned and inspected. Tested under stress-test and operation under Windows 11 with the drivers from the workshop station.

The drivers from the test station are not delivered installed on your PC: installation and configuration will be necessary on your system.

💻 Before installation

Check the PCIe x16 slot, the BIOS, the space for the stated length of 280 mm and the recommended quality power supply of 600 W minimum for the complete PC, with its two 6-pin + 8-pin connectors. Also check the height, thickness, cable clearance, drivers and connections of your screens. A PCIe x16 slot does not guarantee full compatibility on its own. If in doubt, contact us before purchasing.

Windows and installed programs are excluded from the warranty.

This protection exclusively covers the original hardware electronic operation of the graphics card. It expressly and without exception excludes the following situations:

  1. Software conflicts, operating system conflicts, registry conflicts or incorrect or corrupted installations of graphics driver files by the user (driver anomalies on the chosen system are not attributable to the hardware component).
  2. Malfunctions caused by the accidental introduction of liquids, beverages or by exposing the card to excessive moisture.
  3. Mechanical physical breakage resulting from an accidental fall, impact, shock, deformation of the casing or improper handling during connection to the customer's motherboard (scratched PCIe pins, forced power connectors, manually broken fan).
  4. Any sign of blatant negligence, abusive use or manifest lack of hardware maintenance (heatsink obstructed by an extreme accumulation of dust).
  5. Hardware modifications made to the circuit board, changes to the original cooling system or the DirectCU II shroud without the written consent of our technician.
  6. The original manufacturer's identification labels, barcodes or device serial numbers having been modified, altered, scratched out or erased.
  7. Internal or external security seals applied by our refurbishment workshop broken, cut or removed.
  8. Direct physical damage caused to the card's external connection ports (DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort) by forced insertion of unsuitable cables or at a bad angle.
  9. Component failures or overheating caused by external environmental factors (power grid surges, lightning, short circuits coming from an inadequate or defective power supply unit from the customer).
  10. Display anomalies caused by computer virus or malware infections occurring on the customer's computer operating system.
  11. Resolution or unsupported refresh rate incompatibility issues occurring with poor-quality monitors or video conversion cables purchased by the customer afterwards.
  12. Loss of computer data or interruption of work on the connected PC during the installation or use of the component.
  13. Support costs related to the configuration of the graphics card's display functions under the user's control panel (manual resolution adjustment under Windows or Linux).
  14. Hardware interventions, adjustments or maintenance attempts performed by a third-party computer workshop or a person not authorized by our store.
  15. Inappropriate, abusive or intensive use outside the card's original specifications, including but not limited to cryptocurrency mining (strictly prohibited), intensive shared computing or forced GPU overclocking (overclocking).
