The Core i7 has 4 cores / 8 threads, with 8 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD. It offers a good multicore benchmark compared to the Celeron N4000, without being equivalent to a modern laptop. The memory can reach the stated maximum of 16 GB DDR3.

Important: the battery is present, but does not work and no longer charges. The included ASUS charger must remain plugged in. The screen is HD, not Full HD. Demanding recent games are not recommended. Windows 11 Home and the software listed below are installed. 30-day hardware warranty from the date of purchase, battery and battery life excluded.

💰 Value comparison: ASUS R500A

Estimates provided by LA CLÉ INFORMATIQUE, not from an independent report of current listings. Prices vary depending on condition and configuration. The historical original price is not a pre-discount price.

⭐ An affordable Core i7 for plugged-in use

The ASUS R500A is a 15.6-inch multimedia laptop offering capabilities for office work, studies, remote work, and reasonable daily multitasking. Its 4 cores / 8 threads allow certain tasks to be distributed, without concluding that the Core i7 designation surpasses all newer processors.

Storage for everyday files

The 256 GB SSD promotes responsiveness compared to a mechanical drive and offers twice the nominal capacity of a 128 GB SSD for documents and photos. Free space is lower after installation. Booting and loading times depend on the software: no precise time or instant loading is guaranteed.

Home, office, and entertainment

The 15.6-inch HD screen and numeric keypad are convenient for writing, viewing a spreadsheet, or watching a series, depending on the service and connection. Set it up near an outlet: its battery does not work.

The R500A-BH71-CB configuration documented in the original listing features 8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz, an HD screen, Intel HD Graphics 4000, a Super Multi double-layer DVD drive, and Gigabit Ethernet. These variant benchmarks do not replace the tests of the unit sold.

📊 CPU comparison

Research provided by LA CLÉ INFORMATIQUE: cpubenchmark.net, PassMark PerformanceTest V10, report from October 30, 2026, CPU Mark of the i7-3630QM: 5,137; Single Thread Rating: 1,690. The previous report from October 13 indicated 5,136 and 1,690 (CPU 1444). N4000: benchmark of 1,433 viewed on October 11, 2026, version not specified. Evolving averages of the processor model, not tests of this unit.

Comparative chart — CPU Mark
