📊 Processor comparison

Processor	Year	Cores / threads	Frequency	CPU Mark	Level
Celeron N4000	To be verified	To be documented	To be verified	To be verified	Benchmark kept, comparable data to be completed
⭐ Pentium 3558U	2014 benchmark	2 cores / 2 threads	1.70 GHz, no Turbo	1 073	Installed processor; model average

PassMark results provided in the store's search on October 31, 2026: CPU Mark 1 073; Single Thread 955. Model reference averages, not tests of this computer. Initial recording date and PassMark version not specified. Temperatures, cooling, and software can change actual results.

📊 CPU Mark: overall multicore performance

Pentium 3558U: 1 073 — scale from 0 to 1,200.

📊 Single Thread: single thread performance

Pentium 3558U: 955 — distinct scale from 0 to 1,000.

These two tests measure different things. Their bars use distinct scales and do not represent two processors in comparison.

🧩 Cores and threads — scale from 0 to 2

Pentium 3558U: 2 cores / 2 threads. Blue: cores; orange: threads.

The number of cores is not enough to compare different generations. No Celeron N4000 performance is inferred without comparable data.

🎯 Recommended uses and limitations

A large format for viewing documents and performing routine tasks at home or in the office, without seeking the performance of a recent laptop. The HD+ screen gives room for windows, but its resolution remains lower than Full HD.

Light office work: letters, small budget tables, administrative tasks, emails, and PDFs.
Internet: searches and reasonable browsing; variable performance depending on open pages and software.
Multimedia: compatible music and videos; result depending on format, resolution, browser, and connection.
Webcam: video calls subject to the requirements of the application used.
External screen: HDMI connection to a compatible screen.
Network: Wi-Fi or Ethernet; Bluetooth accessories via a compatible external adapter.

Less suited for: heavy multitasking, large video editing projects, 3D rendering, demanding professional applications, and modern demanding games. The old 2-core / 2-thread processor and basic integrated graphics limit these uses.

🎮 Games: realistic expectations

Prioritize light or older games after checking their requirements. No specific FPS or game test has been provided. Minecraft and Roblox evolve: their operation depends on the edition, updates, and settings. This laptop is not offered as a modern gaming computer.

Five offers reported by the store on October 31, 2026, not re-verified here. Prices kept as provided; exact currency to be confirmed in each offer. Stock, delivery times, prices, and fees may change. No additional supplier warranty period added. The Best Buy offer mentioned in the search is also sold and shipped by Laptop Parts Canada: it is not an additional independent supplier.

Capacity differences: 32 Wh is lower than the original 40 Wh nominal and may provide less battery life under comparable conditions. Do not choose an 11.1 V or 10.8 V battery simply because it mentions Inspiron 5748. Compare voltage, part number, shape, mountings, and connector with the original battery before ordering.

Before replacement, turn off the device and unplug the charger. Purchase of a third-party battery is subject to that supplier's terms, which are separate from the laptop warranty.
