😊 In simple terms
A REFURBISHED desktop computer for $60 CAD for email, web browsing, documents, and small spreadsheets. An affordable option for home, school, or light administrative work.
Windows 11 Pro in French and the software listed below are already installed. The USB keyboard, USB mouse, and power cable are included. For an HDMI-only monitor, plan to use a suitable DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter, sold separately.
For internet access, connect it to your router via an Ethernet cable. It does not have built-in Wi-Fi; a new USB Wi-Fi adapter is available as an optional add-on for $15 and is not included in the $60 price.
Its 8 GB of RAM is divided into two 4 GB sticks, with two empty slots. The documented maximum is 16 GB with compatible modules; this upgrade is not included. The 120 GB SSD holds Windows, the programs, and your files; some space is already occupied. Plan for additional storage for large collections of photos or videos.
Please note: this older platform is not intended for demanding modern games or heavy video editing. 📅 The HP rp5800: from retail to office
| Era | CAD Price | Context |
|---|---|---|
| Documented range in 2011 | New price not documented here | Professional platform originally designed for points of sale and commercial environments. |
| Current refurbished market | Varies by offer | No current price comparison report is presented. |
| Our package | $60 | 8 GB DDR3, 120 GB SSD, Windows 11 Pro, software, keyboard, mouse, and cable, with a 30-day warranty. |
A second life for a professional computer, at a price that leaves room for something other than computers.
Its commercial origin explains its specialized connectivity: RS-232 serial ports, PS/2, and connections for certain point-of-sale peripherals. These features are not necessary for home office work and do not guarantee compatibility with any cash register system.
🖥️ A simple foundation for everyday use
Optimize your budget with this $60 CAD refurbished HP rp5800: a desktop package for office work, administrative management, routine accounting documents, and web browsing. Its 4-core / 4-thread Core i5-2400 and 8 GB of DDR3 provide a foundation for these tasks, depending on software requirements and file sizes.
Connect a compatible monitor, the included keyboard and mouse, then enjoy Windows 11 Pro and your installed office tools. The 120 GB SSD promotes system and application responsiveness compared to a mechanical hard drive, without promising an instant startup. For your large libraries of photos, videos, and archives, plan for external storage or cloud storage.
Its compact and robust Desktop case takes up little space on the workstation. For vertical installation, use a suitable stand and keep the ventilation openings clear; no vertical stand is listed as included. An affordable way to extend the use of a professional computer rather than replacing it with a new device.

- Large local archives on the 120 GB SSD alone.
- Software requiring a newer platform or hardware features.
👥 Who is it for?
For an affordable office workstation, routine schoolwork, an administrative space, or a second computer at home. It may also interest a business with compatible professional peripherals. If your goal is professional software or a particular cash register equipment, have its requirements checked before purchasing.
🎮 Games: prioritize light uses
The processor features an integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000 circuit. No dedicated graphics card is listed in this configuration; no FPS report per game is provided.
✅ Recommended
Cards, puzzles, and classic 2D games that are not demanding, depending on their version and requirements.
⚠️ Check
Retro games, lightweight emulators, and older game editions: drivers, version, and settings can affect compatibility.
❌ Not recommended
Recent AAA games, demanding modern competitive games, and virtual reality. This PC is not presented as a modern gaming computer.
For more powerful gaming: contact the workshop to choose a suitable configuration. Do not assume that any graphics card can be added without checking its dimensions, power supply, and compatibility.

A screen with only an HDMI input requires a suitable DisplayPort to HDMI solution, sold separately. No screen or video adapter is listed as included. A documented DVI option for certain configurations or adapters does not mean that this unit has a native DVI port.
🏪 Commercial connectivity: connect the right devices properly
RS-232 serial ports can be used for certain terminals, instruments, or professional peripherals, but their compatibility depends on the equipment, software, and drivers.
The RJ-12 connector for cash drawers is not a standard telephone jack. Check the peripheral's model, wiring, and requirements before connecting.
⚠️ The 24 V powered USB port is specialized: do not confuse it with a standard USB port for connecting a USB flash drive or ordinary accessory. Use only compatible peripherals after verification.
Additional connections such as a parallel port, eSATA, or additional serial ports may exist as options in the product line. They are not guaranteed on this unit. No cash register software or additional commercial peripherals are listed as included.
🔧 Memory, storage, and upgrade options
The installed 2 × 4 GB modules enable dual-channel, which increases memory bandwidth compared to single-channel. Two slots remain free according to the store's information. An upgrade to 16 GB must use compatible modules; refer to the HP system's documented maximum, not the theoretical capacity of the processor alone.
The platform provides two 3.5-inch internal bays and one 5.25-inch external bay, with SATA connections depending on the configuration. A larger SSD or additional storage may be considered after checking the available cables, mounts, and connections. The presence of bays does not guarantee that all mounting accessories are installed.
The 120 GB SSD has no moving mechanical parts. Windows, programs, updates, and temporary files occupy some of the space. No exact speed or SSD brand is listed.
Documented expansion options include PCIe x16 and Low Profile PCIe x1, with other possible slots depending on the riser card. Their presence and availability must be verified on the unit before any upgrade. For a graphics card, check length, thickness, power, cooling, BIOS, and drivers; the 240 W power supply limits power-hungry components.
The platform documentation reported by LA CLÉ INFORMATIQUE indicates a power supply efficiency of up to 90% and active power factor correction. These are design specifications, not a performance measurement for this unit.
🖥️ Graphics, display, and optical drives
Intel HD Graphics 2000 uses a portion of the system memory, not dedicated video memory on a graphics card. The processor specifications provided by LA CLÉ INFORMATIQUE indicate a graphics frequency of 850 MHz to 1.10 GHz and Intel Quick Sync Video technology; the actually usable features depend on the drivers, content, and software.
For two compatible screens, use VGA and DisplayPort with the correct cables and settings. For example, you can keep a spreadsheet on the main screen and emails or references on the other.
The installed DVD combo drive allows reading compatible CDs and DVDs and accessing files or software on discs. Burning options depend on the media and the drive's functionality; no separate burning test results are listed.
